power steering fluid exchange

so I've got some left-over Auto-Rx and I'm gonna use it to clean my P/S system. Then I'll do "turkey-baster" exchange after 1000 miles.

I have some extra qts of Castrol Dexron III transmission fluid. Can I put this in my P/S reservoir? is it a bad mix with the remaining fluid that is still in the pump?

Re: power steering fluid exchange

It's thicker than power steering fluid, and several vehicles just don't work right with it.

Yourt best to look in your owners manual and use what they say to.

If you don't have the owners manual tell us, and someone will look it up for you.

Re: power steering fluid exchange

p/s fluid isn't that bad in price. just put what it needs and it will be fine. the p/s fluid might have a different boiling point.
