Some people might say neither because they're "ricey".

I've had Super Street for years and they're getting alot better featuring some truly badass cars. Import Tuner is the "rice" magazine, often featuring just straight show cars, although they do have some hot ass girls in their mags.....

I'd say go for Super Street all the way. Otherwise Sport Compact Pro is good too.

Re: super street or import tuner

Import Tuner is alright I guess... but I'd choose Modified Mag over both.

Re: super street or import tuner

i'm not into sport compact cars too much. i've already ordered 2 wheel tuner and my original choices before these 2 were car and driver, hot rod, cycle world, sport rider, lowrider, super street, import tuner, modified and turbo and high tech performance but i cut them down to these two

ehh I used to get super street when I was young and dumb.... Now that I'm old and dumb I realized it sucked (actually I kinda knew even when young an dumb, but it came as a 2 year subscription and it was a gift). I now stick to Road and Track or Car and Driver for my daily magazine reading...

sport compact car is better than both put together, IMO.

i guess it depends on what you are looking for in a mag.

sport compact car has alot more tech stuff, importtuner and super street are more about plastic body kits, stereos, and neon lights.

but if that is what you are looking for. . . .

Re: super street or import tuner

Super Street isnt about plastic bodykits and stereos. I rarely see features that are of cars with wacky stereo systems. Most of their ads are horsepwoer stuff and suspension stuff. If you want rice, read import tuner, modified, performance auto and sound (super rice). Super Street has lots of tech articles, and if you like humour, they have that too. The always feature badass cars, and some clean hondas and other reader type rides. Most of the cars they feature are gutted out and have rollcages in them. Sport compact car is boring. They try to be funny. But they arent even close. All the other mags try to rip off Super Street. Id just say go to a store and read different magazines and find which one you like most. I still recommend SS all the way. but if you want the extra stuff, you have to buy it off the shelf. Like when they have calanders and stuff like that. Plus you can win stuff thats actually useful, unlike hand painting sets and cleaning materials. They give out mufflers, turbos, intakes, wheels, tires, all sorts of stuff. You choose though.

Super Street isn't the same as it was 2 years ago. All the cars that are featured now are nice. Plus they often follow alot of race coverage from JGTC, D1, NIRA and stuff like that. They feature some of the top tuned cars in the world. A few I can think of off the top of my head is the Apex'i D1 RX7 (the US and JDM version), the Sig Auto Drift Twins, the Cyber Evo that holds the record on Tsukuba, 1000hp drag Celica, they even had that Sig Auto 350Z with the SR swap. ALSO, they test drive alot of new cars such as the new Civic Si, new Miata, new Evo and so on. Super Street has evolved and it'd be straight ignorant to call them rice anymore.

I say just go to a Barnes and Nobles and peak through both of the mags. But once again, I'd got Super Street all the way.

Re: super street or import tuner

I love Super Street and SCC. Import Tiner I get every now and then, but PAS i think is the best bang for your buck. Freakin' huge a$$ magizine and it's for a regular price.
