Hi everyone im new here and i have a problem i have a 1995 dodge stratus 2.4 auto. last night i was driving and everything was fine but when i went in reverse the car begun to kind of stall and it wouldnt go in reverse. after a while it started working again today i decided to take it to a tranny shop. reverse was worst and after driving for a while the car wouldnt go past 25 mph after 25 mph it felt like it was in neutral rpms kept going up but speed wasnt. guy at the shop said it might be the planetary gear i dont know if its on limp mode or not i doubt it because i have no reverse either shop wants $1500 help any body.

we just had our '96 Stratus tranny rebuilt that was $1,600 the car would drive fine, until the tranny warmed up then it would get stuck in 2nd gear and not down/up shift replaced both the output and input sensors, but still nothing, so that was our only option you can try to replace both of those sensors, and the tranny computer to see if that helps
