Question Temp Question

When it is warm (above 50 degrees) my temp reads just about 1-1.5 clicks to the left of the 210 mark. Now that it is sub freezing the temp gets to about 1 click to the right of the wider mark which is just more then halfway between I think. If I put the heat to the floor controls and set it full blast the engine cools a tad more. I am getting plenty of heat when the engine is warm but I am wondering if when I had some work done and the place swapped out the t-stat and did a flush under warranty if they installed the wrong t-stat. Any estimate on what my temp is being 1 click to the right of the 2nd wider mark? If I take the heat and have it come out the defrost or the tope vents the engine willw arm slightly more. I know they say if you are in danger of over heating to pull heat in through the floor vents so I can see it cooling the engine a tad. I just want to know if they may have put a 180 degree stat in...... Thanks everyone

Re: Temp Question

My Blazer runs at the same exact temp with a 195 t-stat.

Re: Temp Question

My gauge recently started registering higher than previous after changing out the thermostat to a fail safe model.

It's a digital gauge and reads one bar higher (over twoo hundred), both temp sending units have been replaced in the past couple months. I hooked up the scanner and monitored the temp and noticed the temp gets to about 194 when the new bar lights up on the gauge. The temp goes to about 201-202 before the thremostat opens and then the engine runs around 194, yet the gauge is still showing over 200. No big deal, I was just glad to see my acutal temps haven't changed.

Re: Temp Question

I will have to have my temp checked to make sure it is getting warm enough. Don't want to kill my gas mileage!

Re: Temp Question

Forgot to mention on my 95 Blazer the Temp gauge registers well below the 210 mark, probably two or three lines below. I put the scanner on it as well and it too registered around 194/195 when warmed up.
