By an 8-point cage I guess you mean the 4 main uprights, 2 kickers to the back of the car and 2 out the front. I've only done them in stock cars, one was a '69 Nova.

It was a pile of work. The rear of the main cage will be welded to the floor pan unless you do sub frame connectors and attach to them, which I recommend. The same goes with the bars in the trunk. The best way to attach them is to weld in a piece of 3/16 or 1/4" steel plate and weld the bars to that.

The rest can go to the front sub frame, but you'll have to chop up the floor to do them right. Overall, unless you have a tube bender, TIG or MIG welder and mucho fabricating equipment, pay someone else to do it, especially if you take it to the track.

Re: Roll Cage

Are you looking for a rollcage to actually race with, or more for street use. There are some pre-fab cages you can get that are already cut and bent to fit your car. You can find them online (one place is http://www.peytonperformance.com/cat...-RollCage.html) These can be installed in peices so you don't have to fight clearances everywhere. I would not recomend depending on these to save your life at 200MPH, but will be a lot better than not having a cage at all, plus will add to your suspension by reducing body flex.
