Revell C5R corvette?

Which of Revell's 1/25 C5-R corvettes are accurate for the racer that they portray? I understand the Revell Germany boxing of the goodwrench version has some width problems.

Re: Revell C5R corvette?

That's a tough question. I've built 4 C5R's, and the kit was not accurate for any of them. The nose openings, various ducts and roof scoop, change for each car, for each race. You'll have to find a picture and replicate it.

For example, the first C5R win at LeMans each car had different nose openings, and the windshield wiper was on one side of the glass on one car and the other side on the second car.

It also depends what hour of the race you are replicating. During the day the nose has a cover over the bumper lights, At night the cover is removed, and the cars are dirty, beat up and bruised.

In 2004 at LeMans every body part (nose, hood, rear deck, rear bumper) of both cars was replaced except for the doors on BOTH cars due to accidents during the 24 hours of racing. The pile of junk parts in the back of the garage was huge. In some pics of the same car from that race, you'll see differences, because they changed parts.

I've collected many pics and separated them by race.
Take a look here:
