Car rental in europe, under age 25 though?

hey everyone, well me and a friend + his sister decided were gona head to europe this upcomming summer, more specific, flight to frankfurt and then drive through the czech republic to meet my family and then croatia to meet theres,

only problem is, after looking at the buget car rental quotes online and all, you have to be over 25 years of age to rent or if your under its a extra 15 bucks a day

so my question is, does anyone know a way around this or any ideas?

only things i can come up with...

is 1. we get a friend in frankfurt or someone to rent the car and then we drive it for a month... problem with that is if we get pulled over anywhere or have to prove the cars ours.. well... we got no proof since its under there name and not ours so it doesnt look any better then if we just stole the car

2. buy a cheap crap lookin car there, heard you can get a international drivers licence here (canada) or something which lets you drive there for a few months, but then were suck with some pos car and having to deal with insurance and registry depots and everything there (for see lots of problems on that one lol)

so ya... im out of any ideas so im all ears

http://www.e-sixt.de/

They will rent you certain cars if you are 18 or older.

Ford Fiesta, Ford Fusion, VW Polo, Smart ForFour, Renault Modus, Hyundai Getz

2-4 Türer

Mindestalter: 18 (Minimum age)

The problem you might have is taking the car outside of Germany.

As far as buying a car and registering, forget it way to much involved in that.

Just pay the extra fee per day. You don't want to spend time in some Eastern European jail for "stealing" a car.

Agreed; the extra $15 per day to buy peace of mind and not rot in an eastern european jail is worth it. Besides, you have 6 months to save for it.
