1988 Bonneville

Sirs,
I'm noticing that when my car is stitting with the engine running (no moving) the "check engine' light will come on. I don't think it's over heating. Also while driving I can hear a rumble cming from the right front wheel. (maybe the shocks?)
Any help would be great.

Re: 1988 Bonneville

When the SES comes on does it idle surge or anything ,got to be more specific.
Rumbling could be wheel bearing, seems to be common.

Re: 1988 Bonneville

Get the car scanned, as that will tell you the cause of the check engine light. The rumble while driving is most likely a hub bearing.

found the problem

the check engine light was due to a problem with the EGR Flow. Put some Sea Foam in the car and it cleaned out the mechanism. The light went bye-byes.
Thanks.
