Question 98 3.5 intermittent cut-out

1998 3.5 SOHC Trooper, new fuel pump, new fuel pump relay, new engine relay, runs great except for unexpected engine cut-out. Usually restarts itself instantly. Sometimes stalls completely, but restarts without a problem. Any suggestions?

Thanks amigo, but does the intake manifold gasket make sense if the engine never runs rough. This is like someone reaches over and turns off the key, then turns it right back on?

Unrelated, but your 3.5L is a DOHC. Are you getting a check engine light? Have you scanned for pending codes? No CEL, I'd guess at the IMG, or a possible low system voltage condition (bad battery, or alternator). You need to see 14VAC across the battery with a hand-held voltmeter with the truck idling. Could also be a stuck idle air control valve (IAC). Pre 2000's have IAC's.

G/luck
