If it is a elcheapo walmart special just drop it in the trash can and be done with it.
If you are going to do it get a good one.
And remember good installation is the best part.
You might find some wiring diagrams here.

this should do the trick but make sure you have a multimeter and test all wires.

Re: auto start

MAKE SURE TO HAVE THE 2ND IGNITION HOOKED UP AND CORRECTLY OPERATING. If not, you'll be buying a new tranny for your truck.

I'm having trouble finding this "red" connector in the ECM. None of them look red to me. Anybody got a picture of the ECM and can point out the wire?
I understand there is a tach signal at the cruise control (correct?) can I use that? If so do you know which wire?
Thanks...Paul

Re: auto start

Don't bother with that. Just take the 4 screws out that hold your gauge cluster in, pull it out and the one connector on the back you'll see a white wire. Use that for tach. It saves a lot of time versus out in the engine bay.

This is where I always grab it. I just did a full featured RS with keyless entry in a 2007 Silverado with the Duramax. From start to finish was 54 minutes.
