85 IROC Dash Setup?

Can someone with a genuine 85 IROC (not just a Z28) help me out? I am looking to replace the dash assembly in mine and I just got one but it has some vents on the sides that my original does not have. I find these vents to be ugly also, and do not want to swap with a non matching dash anyways. Anyhow, I was wondering, what are these vents for? I believe them to be on cars with A/C but am not sure, maybe it's on the ones without it... Mine does not have A/C or the vents for that matter. Oh yeah, and if anyone has one without the vents, in a parts car in mint/near mint (no cracks or odd coloring) condition that they want to sell, please send me a PM or an email. Thanks!

I am the original owner of a 1985 IROC-Z that I ordered without A/C and the vents in the dash pad are there and are supposed to be there. The vents are to direct defroster air to your side windows.

Sorry, can't post pics. I am refering to the vents in the dash itself Morley, not the defrost vents on the pad. They are on the plastic part of the dash like 3-4 inches to the right of the badge and in the same spot on the driver side. Since your car has no air maybe you have the same one as I need to have (the one with only the 2 vents in the center of the dash, like right above the console). Thanks for the replies though

My 85 does not have them, and I know the dash is the original. The only reason I am asking this is because I need to know what one to order to replace mine because the previous owner was not so smart and cracked it when he took it out for whatever reason.

Thanks, that is all I needed to know. Now I know that I have to order the one without A/C. Still don't really understand why the one with A/C would have more vents in the dash, but I guess whatever.... they look strange anyways. Thanks to everyone who replied
