Crankshaft Position Sensor

My Name is Robert Nations...i have a '97 sunfire with a 2.4 dohc engine and AT. after changing the starter the car would crank but not run. i found an unconnected plug and could not find where it went to. after days of calling service departments and searching the internet with no luck, i finally found it.

the crankshaft position sensor on the 2.4 is located on the engine block behind the starter and over the oil filter. in order to reach the sensor you must remove the oil filter.

if you remove the air intake cover and notice the the wires that fork off from the harness to the starter you will see a cable at this same junction that will lead you to the CPS.
