-oh and just watched it. Pretty kickass you got to try one of the new evos. He was walking well away after you guys made it to the next gear.
Was it pretty much from 2nd to 3rd on the rolls? decent video

The highway rolls were from around 60 mph, starting in 3rd gear and ending somwhere near the top of 4th (for me anyway, he may have been in 5th). The first race on the vid went up passed 130 mph for both cars before we shut down. He was doing 135 and I was around 125-130. I did much better against him from the lower mph rolls though. The 3rd or 4th race was from a 40 mph roll in 2nd and it ended somewhere around 120 in 4th. That one he only got about 1 car on me, which was much better than the highway. All the runs ended up well over 100 mph, but it's really hard to tell in the vid. Like the last part of the vid when all you see is me going through a couple turns in the dark. I was doing that at about 90-95 mph and I took that left turn onto the highway at around 40 mph, but you'd never know just watching the vids.

That ECU flash really woke that car up and gave it a pretty good edge over mine. Very impressive for some basic tuning.

just saw the video. you did worse then i thought you did. he pulled on you pretty good. there was never a time where you stopped his pull. his rate of pull seems to be like 1 car every 2 second. but the races were too short. i know you guys hit 125mph or so but he pulled pretty hard in a 60 mph interval. he looked around 4-5 cars ahead to me. the way you were describing it, it sounded like it would be alot closer.

It looks like Rob (Evo guy) was just trying to prove a point, and would hit the brakes, as soon as he's 2-3 cars ahead - at least from the slow rollls.

Well, at least I'm glad you manned up, Aaron, much respect for that.

nice vid. Yes you got pulled, but give the SS some credit, it's basically stock. Those cars are impressive, what do they weigh in at?

Re: SS/SC Vs. Evo IX: Video

What's the difference between a Evo 8 and the one you raced? What type of performance gains does a reflash give to those cars? If I'm not mistaken, you beat one by over 3 car lengths even though he got a jump.

Damn I wish we had that kind of scene around here. A lot of old beat up civic hatchbacks around here.. every once and a while an evo, STI, 300zx, etc. But not a lot of them race, they just "cruise".. waste of a fast car.

Nice race and good vid.. I should videotape my races.. as soon as I get a car fast enough to race in.

The 06 Evo got a 10-20 hp boost over the previous cars, plus this one has another 40 whp more because of it's reflash. I'd say Rob's Evo IX has about 45-50 whp more than the Evo that I ran a couple weeks ago. That's the difference.

They are suppose to weigh about 2850-2950 pounds. But one of the guys on the SS forums just had his weighed at a track the other week and it came in at 2750 or so without him in it. I don't know the accuracy of the scale used though.
