Does bad CPI cause P1506?

I've been reading through this forum which is GREAT help by the way, and noticed one that had removed egr valve cleaned it, ran fine for about a minute and clogged up again. I took mine off to clean it and it didn't really have any Chunks of carbon, butwas pretty dirty, put on new screen gasket ran good for a minute then running rough again! I wonder if that causes code P1506.???? Can anyone tell me?

That's the IAC Code. Essentially it's not functioning correctly. Like the EGR the port that it sits in can get sooty or get carbon chunks up into it... Try pulling it then hosing it down and the port on the manifold down with carb cleaner or brake clean and see how it does. If that doesn't fix it, the pull the upper plenum and check for washing.

I know the brake clean is stronger, but does it leave an oily residue or foul out the plugs?

Brake clean leaves no residue (if it did after using it on your disc brakes or dums you wouldn't be able to stop well :P)

True, I feel stupid, I should have thought of that.
I cleaned out the TPS, IAC, butterfly flange, and the EGR port again, and It's running the best it's ran since I've owned it. The SES light even went out on it's own. Yeah! I do have one other thing though, and this basically started the same day as the rough idle, but I thought they were related, It is making this weird whistle noise when I accelerate, and since Saturday it seems to be getting louder. It's coming from between the engine and firewall it seems. Occasionally today it sounded like I'd killed a cat or something hissing back at me. My grandfather says as long as it's running good, don't bother it, but I'm afraid it could lead to something bad down the road?? Have you ever heard of this???
