nitrous

So does anybody here have a nitrous kit on there z31???
Or better put does anybody have nitrous injection on there car??
The reason i worded it like that is due to the fact that im building a diy kit..... not looking for extremes just a little 20 shot for the summer.
installing it with a 3 nozzle inlet ( .42 mm nozzles ) running it to a shut off valve to a small bottle. Im going to due a little drag strip 1/8 mile strip test. The reason i asked if anyone had a kit was due to the fact of i was wondering for a idea of where to inject it at.... First thought was just after intercooler, sounds good. But wait maf sensor would get a screwey reading then. ok before the maf, even better, Wait a minute its also a denser form of air, ok fuel inrichment . Wait fuel inrichment and the nitrous before maf... back to the after the maf sensor. Ok so if anybody does under stand all of that and has a better understanding of how to any help would be appreciated

Re: nitrous

I don't know much about em' but from what I hear, a wet shot kit is a much safer way to go than a dry kit... good luck

Re: nitrous

wet shot as in fuel enrichment yes got that part...
nitrous bottle + shut off....+ fuel pressure return line + shutoff + (pin nozzles x 6) = 20-30hp wet shot

Re: nitrous

thanks for the link but not too informative just a basic this is what nitrous is and the usual warnings that go with it
like a stated though nothing extreme smal shot at the drags test run it not run it every full throttle i got
allthough yes i gotta try it out one time after its on there
ahh or 2 times you know for tunning puposes

also it wouldnt be any fun with out the exected toasted rings after i do get greedy and probably several miliseconds latter shot rod bearings and that all if im lucky and still get to drive it home lol

just joking i m learned my lesson............ sure

Re: nitrous

a basic dry kit or wet kit will be fine.... they're expensive for just a 20 hp shot, you could run a 50 hp shot safely if you're smart with it (no 7000 rpm drifts). i'm pretty sure they come with installation instructions and from what i've heard it's not hard at all to do... i'm sure there's tons of writeups out there... just look for a general 6 cylinder wet/dry kit

the dry kits are easier to install i think... but not quite as safe

Re: nitrous

not a kit diy (do it your self) the reason its a 20 shot is its for spooling purposes and the fact that i have a problem with traction even though i got fuzions (225 50 16) im still at a loss of traction
if i floor it in 2nd the moment the boost sp[ools the tires are spinning ... i have to ease into the throittle . if i dump it and reem into 3rd same problem slight bit of moisture and 4th can be a hairy little bitch
so i figure a small shot to pull it back out of the hole after pedling into 2nd and then a healthy shot after 3rd (hence the shut off valve being needle seat type allows for restriction to a very very small amount from 0 to probably close to a 50 shot but i dont want to chance it thanks for the advikce though

Re: nitrous

ok well youll want to run a basic wet system, and youll probably mount say 2 injectors. I personally am not fulimiar with the intake tubing on the Z31 but youll want to mount the 2 injectors in opposing sides if the intake tube/ on the top two seperate tubes like on the Z32. as far as placement of the injectors you will want them a few inches in front of the TB.but enough room for the N to atomize and not just condense on the walls and throttle valve. beings it will be a wet system you have run fuel to the injector as well as the actuall N. etc....etc...... etc....... im sure theres write ups. hope that helps a little.

also i have an in cabin boost controller so ill be able to lowwer boost for the 1st gear slightly higher in 2nd then a healthy 12 for 3rd well anyway thanks for the info

Re: nitrous

IT'S A BUNNY WITH A PANCAKE ON HIS HEAD!!! HA HA HAAAAAAAAAAA HA HA HA H AH AH AH HA! That rules

Anyway...I STRONGLY suggest NOT running a dry setup...under any circumstances...ever. I also strongly suggest NOT trying to skimp or make a "do it yourself", slapped together nitrous kit. Not only are you just asking to get your shit blown the fuck up, but you could also be asking for a trip to the hospital. Nitrous isn't just dangerous to your engine under the right circumstances, it can also be quite dangerous for you.

Get a wet kit, man. Even though it will cost you a little more up front, you'll save money over the long run cuz you'll reduce your chances of having to rebuild you car or pay hospital bills. Besides, it'll work better, be safer, and make more power for you in a better, more controlled manner. Just get a kit...please...for the sake of your car...what ever it is...besides...what the hell do you drive, anyway?

what kind of mods have you done to your car btw man... I was running about 5 or 5.5 PSI with regular tires, Intake, ghetto exhaust, and aftermarket POV, and I would only chirp the tires going from first to scond gear sometimes...

^I agree if he's stock... either that or he could just be a bad driver, which I don't think is the case...
