'95 problems please help
I have a 1995 aurora with 67000 miles. I am having a few problems with this car.
Problems Cruise does not work...checked for air leaks TC is not kicking in on the trans The service engine light comes on when driving and the car will not idle after that(surges) Runs fine if I keep it @800rpm's while it surges. The Trans is making a whining noise My seats are not operating except for recline positions and sometimes the heated seats work. Please help me on this. I am trying to solve these problems without taking it to the dealer. Thanks for your time, Joshua |

Re: '95 problems please help
Bring it to autozone and they will read the error codes for free.
It sounds like you have more than one thing going on and its too hard to guess based on your descriptions.

Re: '95 problems please help
I have taken it to autozone and they said that they are not able to scan it because it is obdI with an obdII plug. What would you like more info on?

Re: '95 problems please help
Well what you describe is a bit too broad. I dont know that they are all related. Have you checked to see how much and obd i scan tool is? It really would help a lot to have some error codes. Till than its a bit of a guess.
Sorry i can't be more help.

Re: '95 problems please help
the engine surge sounds like the FPR is bad easy to check and replace. Have you had the recall for the fuel line done.

Re: '95 problems please help
I Brought Mine To The Dealer And They Did The Rest. It Is A Very Good Idea To Get This Done Asap. There Have Been A Lot Of Fires Caused By A Leaky Fuel Rail. Just Look On Ebay And I Bet You'll Find Someone Trying To Part Out One That Burned. The Dealer Will Reuse Your Old Fpr. There Is An Adapter That Mates The Old Fpr To The Fuel Rail. I Think The Fuel Rail Is Setup To Take A Newer Style Fpr.
Check Your Tranny Fluid. They Dont Call It A Hydra-matic Tranny For Nothing. Most Of The Work In An Auto Tranny Is Acomplished By The Fluid Moving Around And Going From This Valve To This Valve, Doing All Sorts Of Things. Dirty Fluid Will Kill A Tranny. Could Also Be A Sensor Or A Hundred Other Things That Are Hard To Track Down. The First Step Should Always Be To Check The Fluid, It Would Be Best To Drop The Pan, Pull The Tranny Drain Plug, And Change The Filters. If You Do That Make Sure To Check For Misc. Metal Debris. The Traction Control Is Usually A Failure Of One Of Your Wheel Hub Assemblies Or The Actual Unit. The Wheel Hub In A 95' Is Expensive And Known For Failure (at Least The Front Is). The Oem Hubs Will Go Anywhere From 80-120,000. The Heated Seat Module Is Under The Pas. Seat. I Have A Leak That Fills The Pass Area With An Inch Or More Water When It Rains Badly And Then My Heated Seats Work Funny. There May Be An Individual Module For Each Seat. I Havent Had To Look That Far. Some Tranny Shops Will Give You A Free Estimate. Part Of The Estimate Is Scanning The Codes. If You Can Find A Place That Will Do This, Get A Printout Of The Codes. |

I have had problems with the drivers side power window and the drivers side seat controls. I found a couple of wires that were frayed in the door jam. I cut the rubber boot the long way so I could look inside and that is where I found them. Soldered them up and haven'nt had any trouble since. The heated seat wire I am sure runs through there also, there is a shit load of wires in that bundle. The rest of the problems sound unrelated. Another thing with the door wires is that if i would touch the wrong ones together it would blow the instrument lights, climate control lights, and Driver Information fuse (one fuse for all). I don't think this would shut the car down but you never know. Before mine went totally i could open the door and things would work again, but after time they just didn't have any connection left. This is easy to look at and just may save you some money and headache. |
