A smokin' start.

Okay, sometimes when i go to roll off the clutch real easy, my exhaust will give off a medium cloud of white smoke, but as soon as i'm good an' rolling, theres no smoke or anything. Sometimes it will smoke alittle if i'm sitting and i rev a little, and other times it won't smoke at all.....temp of the engine or air seems to have no factor at all....whats going on, are my valve guides worn or something? If it helps, one of the muffler tips are missing and i also think i have an exhaust leak, cuz my stock exhaust is noisy. Thanks gurus.

if you can read that it is probably correct.

white smoke = water in chamber
black smoke = fuel too rich/incomplete combustion
blue smoke = burning oil (bad valve seals, etc.)

translation of above quote-
your clutch and exhaust have nothing to do with each other
you have water in your engine (combustion chamber)
head gasket or warped/cracked head or cracked block or etc. . . . .

if it is just a little white smoke when your engine is warming-up, you are probably OK.

Once...

Well...my friend has bad valve seats and it is a pretty white smoke. Like the same as when you start your car up in the morning. But he has oil residue in his exhaust like crazy and it smells of oil.

lots and lots of grey smoke = one good burnout
thats my explanation, maybe your wheels are spinning too much.

jks.
thats doesnt mean you need a new engine, just take your headoff and inspect it.... if its the gasket replace it if its cracked..... then buy a new one, if u cant afford it put it back on and put up with the smoke lol. nahh thats no good. id say just inspect it. if its your work car, then borow your wifes car or sumthing lol.

Re: A smokin' start.

its fine. Aslong as its not leaving a fat trail. Let it idle for like 10 minutes. Then hit the gas a little bit in neutral. See how much comes out then. If you see indians across the forest sending signals back, then get it checked out. And take a pic of the indians cuz thats a rare sighting.
