95 LTD 4x4 Control Trac problems

When the 4x4 is switched on in my 95, the cluster light does not immediately light but after 10 to 15 seconds, both the "4x4" and "4x4 LOW" lights begin to flash. They flash about 10 times and then go out for about a minute then flash again. The opperation of the 4x4 seems to be working when electronically engaged but the lights are a bother. Any ideas?
