87 s10 blazer no start

just did the starter on it then 2 days later theres no start. it will crank but wont start. the cat is clogging up but i dont believe that would stop the motor from starting... any suggestions?

Check the basics. If it has a spark and fuel, it should run.

Try checking for spark, you can remove a spark plug and lay it on the enginewith the threads touching metal for a ground and watch it while someone tries to start it. If you do not get a spark your problem is ignition related. if you do get a spark (I am assuming it is fuel injected and not carbureted) remove your air filter and watch the fuel injectors while someone tries to start the engine. If the fuel injectors do not spray fuel you have a fuel system problem. hopefully that will send to in the right direction. Depending on how much the exhaust was restricted it would be possible to keep it from starting, but unless you had a substancial power loss, or an overheating engine I would look into other area first. btw did anything start to go wrong before this or was this an all of the sudden problem

no ive been workin and havent had a chance to look at it really.. im gunna check the spark probably tomarrow and cut the cat off too
