Racing when out of production?

Even though cars go out of production, they still appear in certain professional races. For example, in an American touring race the C6 vettes will be racing alongside the C5 vettes. How much do the years vary if it's not just 'the latest sports cars' kind of race?

And I was wondering If I could still see any professional races today where a team drives the 4th generation Camaro or Firebird. Thanks in advance

Re: Racing when out of production?

in SCCA Club racing classes like G & H Production, cars from the 60's like Triumphs and MG's are still nationally competetive (and no, it isn't a "nostalgia" class or anything, they compete against cars from the 90's). 4th Gen Camaros are still the car to have in the SCCA class American Sedan. Out of production cars are common in most SCCA classes and there are even a few in the Rolex Grand Am series.
