Yellow Top???

Would a single Yellow Top in the trunk be sufficient for 300-350 amps draw? (2 eD Nine.1s strapped and a garbage MTX 4 channel)

Re: Yellow Top???

Its not the battery man its the alternator. Your battery can handle whatever you throw at it but it wont last as long the optima is deepcycle so you can run it down on power longer than a normal battery. I got a redtop when i was pushing close to 1200rms and i did notice a bit of a difference in my lights and such dimming but for that big of a power draw you would need and alternator upgrade. The battery shoould be able to handle it i think its like a 5 or 600 amp battery not sure i would have to go look at the tag real quick.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.

Re: Yellow Top???

think a 200 amp alt would suffice? guy at h-o-alternators.com has a bolt on alt. no new mounting bracket, no new wires.

ley me get the name of the company that makes HO alternators there a new company but they had some awsome ass power supply stuff HO alternators, 12/16 volt batterys and some other stuff. They quoted me 325 for a 240amp chrome alternator and 280 for the bare aluminum. The guy said that i could run about 3500-4000watts before i had power problems off of that, Im not sure on the conversion but i believe every 50watts is 1 amp, but im not sure.

Re: Yellow Top???

I recommend:

www.mean-green.com

I'd recommend a 200-240 amp alternator, Big3 upgrade in 1/0, and a Yellow top under your hood for your setup.

Re: Yellow Top???

Mean Green and Ohio Generators...for a true 500a draw you would need at LEAST a 300a alt...and still expect a ton of voltage drop.
