Lost all guages but speedo and tach

I need some help. I have a 1993 Transport 3800 with the 4 speed. Just the other day my temp guage went all the way up my oil pressure guage went all the way down the gas guage stayed at 1/4 of a tank and my battery guage is stuck at like 14 volts. The speedo and tach work just fine. Is there a connector inside the dash that controls those ? I checked the fuse in the glovebox. Is there a fuse maybe under the hood ? Also i just notice my check engine light went out Thanks

Re: Lost all guages but speedo and tach

THere is a "gauges fuse" 7.5 amp in the middle of fuse panel
It is not clear from the i/p schematic which section exactly is fed by that fuse because part of i/p seems to be also fed directly by the ignition fuse and the "93 GM diagram does not separate them clearly....
According to the fuse block details, the gauge fuse also feeds daytime running lamps module, electronic level control height sensor and abs lamp driver module. SO verifying if these continue working would be interesting..since you say fuse still OK, they probably work.
The only connector on the way is the one that connects directly into the back of the instrument panel assembly, not difficult to remove. It passes all signals, 12vfeed and grounds.
Printed circuit failures and cracked soldering points in i/p have been reported by some forum members.

Double checked the fuse and i dont have daytime running lamps, electronic level control for what i believe. The abs seems to be working fine. I guess i will go out to my wonderful 8 degrees today and pull apart the cluster...

I want you to get it straigth: it says the abs LAMP driver..the ABS itself is independant from that, so the test would be to check if the ABS light does light up (it should when initially turning the key to ON..or if you pull the ABS fuse out, it would then turn the ABS lamp ON once started) .

I pulled the dash assembly out and no seen problems. I noticed though that my battery guage does work but not the idiot lights, oil pressure, gas guage and temp guage. Should i just get a new dash assembly ? Thanks

Re: Lost all guages but speedo and tach

I do not know why in the diagrams here
www.avigex.ca/xport/instrumentpanel.jpg
www.avigex.ca/xport/instrumentpanel1.jpg
the 2 feed circuits seem to be linked togther, which is illogical. Surely, one fuse (gauge fuse) feeds only part of the I/P,the rest through the other fuse. It really looks like the gauge fuse - or related external or internal wiring - does not feed the I/P. Remove gauge fuse (in center of fuse block) and DOuble check with a voltmeter first in the fuse connector if voltage is fed to the fuse, and check the fuse itself again.
THen check at I/P connector if 12V is available at C5, D5 and D10 pins www.avigex.ca/xport/ipconnector.jpg
