Do I Need to Replace DME Chip ??

My defective ignition coil-pack cooked an ignition transistor in the DME of my 1995 318i Automatic. I have replaced the ignition coil-pack, and I have a used DME ordered, which should arrive in a few days. The used DME came out of a 1995 318i Automatic, and the Bosch part numbers all match perfectly. Before the DME module arrives, I am going to change the system relay, as well, just to be on the safe side.

My question: should I replace the DME chip in the used DME module, that's on it's way, with my original DME chip from the stock DME module from my car?
Or, should I just try the used DME module, as is?

I've boned up on changing the chip, from PelicanParts site, and it seems like an easy process.

Any other words of advice before I turn the ignition key?

thanks
