1998 regal ls, thoughts?

Im looking at a 98 regal and i want to know your opinion. It is a nice car but with 120k it is questionable. Dont the trannies on these 3800's go a little after 100k? thats just what i have heard. I just sold a 90 buick estate wagon and i loved it. 276k and still ran strong. Hoping that for this car if i get it. Heres the listing,

I have the same vehicle in a 98 Lumina LTZ 3800, lost O/d in the trans, need the " stovepipe", about $700, trans ok, this was at 80k. Waiting for the intake manifold egr issue now at 130k, rear disc caliper slides tend to corrode in upstate NY, but with the f41 package, this car rides, handles and has nice power.

Max, I didn't know you have a Lumina. I had a '96 Sedan with 3.1L. I traded it in back in 2001 for a Regal GS. Good car...only real problems after 80K miles was a battery and alternator.

On my wife's '99 LS we have over 109K miles. Still have the original UIM. The CAT went South after the emissions warranty expired. Other than that routine maintenance such as tires, struts, brakes and tune up items. We can still get 29 mpg highway and 23 city. 4T65E tranny started acting up around 90K miles and a bottle of Lubegard took care of that. Valve cover gaskets are starting to seep so its time for replacement. Other than that the LS is a solid car.

I had a 97 3.1 that was bullet proof at 175k and the LTZ, use them to travel as a heavy equipment adjuster. Retired from Cadillac a few years ago, got the keep busy.
