95 toyota forerunner electrical problems
I have a 95 forerunner that has all the sudden developed an electrical problem. First there was a loud static sound from the rear speakers and then the radio and cd player just went out. Does not power on. But, the worst thing is that the rear tail lights stay on and will not go off unless I disconnect the battery.
The radio I can live without if need be, but the tail lights will not go out and I have to disconnect the battery so as not to run it down. Any thoughts on where to start to correct this problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!! |

Re: 95 toyota forerunner electrical problems
you got a wire burn or wire that has not been tape well so I suggest you need to check all your wire from front to the rear.

If you recently did any electrical work start there, he is right it sounds like a major short has caused this. Melted connections. Pull your tail light fuse, if the tail lights go out then the short is in front of the fuse. The rear stock speakers have power supplied to them and that may be where the problem is or around. Pinched wire under speaker mount? To start you need a schematic. This is for a 1993 but may help: http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-buchanan/93fsm/ Electrical: http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...lectrical.html |

Try and take a look around the pedal also the is a pressure sensor that triggers the lights for the brakes.
