Replaced hub and still no TCS, perf shift or Driver Info Center
I replaced the front brake pads. A week later, no TCS or performance shift and the info center flashes zero.
Found some other posts suggesting to check the front hubs. Found the driver-side was a little sloppy, so I replaced it. But...still no TCS, perf shift, etc. Any ideas? Has anyone had two hubs go at once? Thanks, Addam 2000 GTP Coupe Last edited by bc_monzai; 12-18-2005 at 05:04 AM. |

Re: TCS off and Driver Info Center blinks zero...
take it to a parts store and have them scan for codes. maybe a wheel speed sensor went bad?

Yep, might have unhooked or damaged the wiring while replacing the brakes.

Re: TCS off and Driver Info Center blinks zero...
If you used an impact wrench on the lug nuts, you could have ruined the ABS wheel speed sensor in the hub bearing, which in turn is causing your symptoms. NEVER use an impact wrench to install wheels unless you have a torque bar/limiter on it, as the hammering action does damage to drivetrain components.

Even impact torque bars are junk.. Use a torque wrench.

I agree Corning, hand tools are the only right way to do it.

Whoa!!! Who are you guys addressing in this thread. This was an old post resurrected. The new poster "geddup" never mentioned anything about replacing hub/bearings.
Take a closer look at the DIC problem he is having.

when the display is blinking zero's, the boost gauge doesn't work, the TCS lights up and i think my performance shift wont work.

You have a problem internally with the DIC. Either, the processor is bad or there is a loss of serial data from the sources that feed it like PCM, EBCM module, etc.

Re: TCS off and Driver Info Center blinks zero...
bnaylor, what did you do to resolve your problem?
I would would also like to add that my ABS is working properly. BTW, I had my GTP stored for 2 years, just too it out, last week. |

When you first started the car after taking it out of storage what was the condition of the battery? About all you can do is remove the IP bezel and then the DIC. Check for proper connection and the presence of a good ground and 12 volts. Another suggestion is to get some more mileage on the car and see if the problem goes away. Also, remove the battery negative cable and leave disconnected overnight. Hook it back up, take it out for a spin and then see what it does. After that you're looking at finding a replacement DIC to correct the problem.

Re: TCS off and Driver Info Center blinks zero...
Thanks bnaylor, Ill try that, I had to replace my battery, I guess the DIC is damaged, I guess I'll buy one, It happened once before, when I first started driving the car last week, it lasted 1 day, a week later, it's raining and it's acting up again.
Storage is not always great, I also have a trouble code P0449 (EVAP CANISTER VENT SOLENOID VALVE CONTROL CIRCUIT) off topic question, how many miles/kilometers do you get to a full tank. the other day, I went to start my car, there was no power anywhere except for the starter. Once she's all fixed up, I'll start enjoying driving her again... |
