Power/Economy switch

My SL has the pwr/eco switch by the shifter. Does this actually do anything? And if so how much extra performance would I get with it?

Re: Power/Economy switch

it changes the shift points. ECO is like 6200 rpm at shifting. while PWR is 6800. people say it changes the shift points during normal acceleration. it might but i dont see much of a difference on mine.. maybe a couple hundred rpms. the 6200 an 6800 are while its floored of course. but ECO is meant for saving gas.

wow, i generally get about 20-25 mpg in the city going under boost frequently. Maybe i've really leaned out my normal driving conditions, even though i have no signs of predetonation.

Re: Power/Economy switch

power switch does not give you more boost, it changes your shift points as was stated above.

And hotshot, I envy you. I get like 14-17mpg under boost around town. Without tuning, these cars run pig rich.
