Power Programmer?
Does anyone know of any power programmers for a 2005 Impala w/3.4?
I've been looking around but all I've found is a hypertech programmer for the 3.8

Re: Power Programmer?
you'ld be better off with a DHP PCM. they run about $200 with your stocker as a core of about $100 - $150
what are you looking to accomplish with the hypertech? what are your plans/goals for the car? |

Re: Re: Power Programmer?
I had a hypertech programmer on my old GMC Truck and it increased the horsepower enough to be noticed as well as tuned the shift points so it held the gears longer and raised the top speed limiter, that is pretty much what I'm looking for my impala, I don't plan on doing anything radical with it I just want a little "fine tuning".

Re: Power Programmer?
well you still might be better off, money wise with the DHP PCM, one because it will still provide you with what you are looking for, and two its the only thing available for you 3.4, since they dont make a HTPP for the 3.4. heres a link for their home page for some info, I think it still says its only for the SS, but they just havent updated it, I nkow a few people with a DHP PCM in their 3.4
http://65.109.52.43/products.htm in there dealer section they have all online avialbale places to purchance, I think right now PFYC is teh cheapest wth $185 for the PCM, and only $100 core. with shipping it should only be a little over $300 I think, and that would be less than the HTPP if it was even available, which it isnt. they aslo have a DHP Power tuner, whcih you shoulaslo find on some of the websites in their dealer section, which If I remember correctly is about $300 - $400 but its a tuner, so you can change like 200 different aspects of your stock PCM, but you will need a laptop, or very portable desktop, since the tuner is not a handheld tech like the HTPP, its a program. plus with the tuner, they offer a insureance, that if your burning a new setup onto your PCM, and fry it, they'll repalce it, but you have to send it to them, so you would still need another PCM if its your daily driver. i'd say look into it, there is also a intense PCM, but the DHM is a better choice. i'd have to suggest you look into those, they will be the route you are looking to go. |
