Tail Lamp Mtg Screws- How do you get to them??
I just bought a 2003 Venture that has a broken tail lamp lens. I have a new lamp from GM; the lamp is mounted by two torx head screws which are accessible on one side but two studs and nuts on the other side are not as easy to get to. Can anyone recommend if I need to remove the rear interior trim panel or can I go through the little access door with a socket and long extension? I will have to get the U-Body shop manual set soon I guess but any advise on this one for now would be appreciated.
Thanks, Greg |

Re: Tail Lamp Mtg Screws- How do you get to them??
Greg,
The two screws you found (near the door opening) are the only two that unscrew. The other two are "studs" that stay in the tail light assembly and are "friction fit" into a socket. Once you have the two screws removed, just grab the assembly are pull straight back. That should do it. If you need pictures, just let me know. Oh yeah - Welcome to the Forum. Take Care,

Thanks for the tip Greg A, the job is easier than I thought. When I saw those two studs on the new lamp It looked like it was going to take all day.
