1st major issue with car

so after 3 years, it finally happened. I was going to my car a few days ago and it was pretty cold out (for SoCal) and when i cranked, the car was making a pinging sound. The sound stopped after driving a bit (i thought it was just the cold or something), but the check engine light went off.

I towed it to the dealership today and the guy called me back and said,"you have the extended warranty, right?". Thank god, yes. They are going to pull the engine apart on monday and figure out what's going on. I asked him what the ecu codes were and he said it was giving all sorts of codes.

The car has a problem when the fuel level gets low--after the fuel light turns on (it starts coughing and stalling) that i never ended up getting fixed. So i'm thinking it might be related to this (fuel pump issue).

BTW, my car has 51000+ miles and is a 2000 LS. I also have a CAI on the car, but it hasn't rained here for a bit so i doubt that is the source/part of the problem?

turns out i got some water in between one of the spark plugs and spark plug wires. The water was from pressure cleaning the engine about a month ago. I cleaned it out a little bit and put in new plugs. car works great now. damage =$75 for new plugs. they are pretty expensive.
