HUD problems
hey whats up me again lol.. i got a new problem. its with HUD/electrical issue. it seems the last couple of weeks ive had alot of lights blowing in m dash. first my headight swtitch lighs blew but the switch works. then my drivers side heater knob light blew. but still functions then my HUD switch lights blew but still functions all the suden the other day my HUD decided to dim on me for no reason. then all the sudden smoke was coming from the switch. i immediately shut the car off. i turned the key to the on position and it worked and the display was bright. then i started my car and there was the smoke the display dimmed and then went out completely. now it wont even turn on. do you think its just the switch or the whole HUD is bad

Re: HUD problems
Normally, the heads up display fading problem is either bad solder joints or photocell on the HUD circuit board located in the dashboard. However, in your case it seems like it has progressed beyond that and the unit may need replacing. Smoke coming from the switch is not good but I don't think it is the switch. Plus the same 12v that feeds the HUD goes to the other circuits you mentioned above.
The best thing to do is remove the HUD unit and inspect for obvious signs of electronic component damage. Hopefully the switch wasn't damaged.
