Sport Trac Wheel squeek
I had new tires put on over a month ago and everything has been fine.
Just yesterday I started hearing a rattle and fairly loud screeching coming from the left front and/or right wheels. I wonder if it's because my car sat in 5 inches of water during our last big rain? Would water do this to the wheels?I doubt it. Could this be my brakes? It doesn't happen only when I apply the brakes. It continues at any speed.

Was the water over the transfer case, rear diff, and/or the hubs? If it was you should change out the fluid in the transfer case and the rear diff and have your bearings check and repacked. Especially if it was sitting in the water for a long time. There is also a service bulletin on the dustcovers for the bearings on the regular ford explorers but I am not sure if it afffects the sprot tracs. |

Re: Sport Trac Wheel squeek
Thanks for replying.
The noise has stopped,so I really don't feel like investigating anymore.I checked the lugnuts and they were tight. The water wasn't even over the tires,so I don't think much damage could have been done.
