Compatible seats?

I've been wanting to get leather seats for my 92' PA, but was wondering if anyone knows what other years, makes and models GM has that I can possibly get seats from that will fit? For instance, I saw a surprisingly decent set at the local yard inside of a late 80s Cadillac (I didn't get the year, but it had the exact same body style as the mid 80s-91 PA Electra..will these fit a 92'? My car has the dual power seat controls, but I assume that the seats can simply unbolt and fit my current brackets..if anyone has a clue about this it'd be greatly appreciated!
And thanks for all the help you have all taken the time to give me with my huge list of past probs/ modifications! This website is like a blessing!

I replaced a pass. off my 92 with a 95, or 96, can't remember but am sure it is one of those years, then my drivers side with a 94 for sure. I'd have to say yes. All bolted down just fine. The seat designs are different though! I had to replace my drivers side because it didn't match, it does now. One more thing, the old driver side seat had a manual recline, the old pass. seat had power recline, on the newer seats the pass. seat had the power recline, and the driver seat had power recline as well, I plug everything in and the power recline on the driver side worked to which I though was cool! I can't remember the year of the first seat because the seat I bought was off a 95 and it was not heated and had to take back to get the heated one, and they never gave me a new receipt, they just marked exchanged on it. Just so ya know! Good luck!

Where did you find your new seats, Cntrysthbst? I was also going to ask you where the seat heater switch is located (on seats? dashboard somewhere?)
The seats I saw were out of a 88 Deville...a whole set (front and back) for 100 bucks, BEAUTIFUL condition for their age (I can't go wrong for that price!) They are burgundy so they'll match, and they are power assisted but with manual recline, I believe...these are the ones I am not sure about fitting a 92. They of course are designed differently, but they also don't have a Caddy logo anywhere, so it wouldn't look stupid in my Buick. Everything else at the junk yard here is either gray, tan or cloth

Got the seats at two different junk yards in Vero Beach, Florida. Now the heated seat switches in my car are below the climate control, mounted on the lip facing up, they are a few inches away from each other. You also have to have a big wire harness under the seat for the heated seat option. I have 3 wire harness sets under both of my seats, one goes to the heated seats, the second goes to the power seats, and the third goes to the power recline. I think I have a small wire harness to but can't remember, I thought it when to the seat belt but not sure on that. Now I got my seats from Park Avenues, not Cadi., I don't know if those seats off the 88 cadi will fit. I hope they do. 100 buks is a great deal if they do fit. All I had to say was "heated seats" and it cost me 75 buks more for a total of 165.00 for one. The other was 175.00. That was just for 2 seats so I would have to say you got a great deal!

I'm sorry about not getting back sooner, I was thinkin I'd get an email when you replied. Good luck with those seats!

Re: Compatible seats?

So much for me customizing my car, Cntrysthbst! Ever since I posted that seat forum it seems my PA has decided to play sick on me in every other way! Charging system overcharged, had the alt replaced, which did nothing, finally found that the engine control computer was the culprit...90 bucks for parts! Then the O2 sensor went out (again!!) However those seats I saw are still there! I might have been preoccupied with everything else, but rest assured I will get those seats!

Yeah, I know the feeling very well!

About the O2 going out, I was told by dealer to disconnect the battery when replacing, have you done that? I had problems when I changed mine out, they went bad again within a month so I took it to the dealer. Found out the hard way I guess because I haven't had a problem with them since.

Re: Compatible seats?

Yes I did, any time you do any electrical work the battery should be disconnected. You reduce the risk of shorting something out and you will also reset the computer (which needs to be done for clearing codes whenever you change the sensors)
