Question Fan Switch...

Hey,

On my 88 XJ Cherokee Laredo 4.0 Auto, I changed the closed to the open radiator system. The old radiator had a Coolant Temp Sensor mounted on the driver's side just above the lower rad hose and it switched the Fan on/off at around 210-220 degrees.

Does the Computer use the data read by this Coolant Temp Sensor to adjust fuel mixture etc.? Or, does it use the Temp Sending Unit at the back of the head?

I need to know since my new open system no longer uses this CTS and now has a separate control box and temp probe to control the Fans.

Thx, Phil

Re: Fan Switch...

The sensor in the old radiator only controlled the electric fan.
