Throttle Body and Throttle Position Sensor

The error code on my 1989 Acura Legend indicated my Throttle Position sensor was bad. I wasn't planning on keeping the car long since I rarely use it now, So I bought one from the yard and it is supposed to be good. Better than paying nearly $600 for a new one at the dealer. Anyway, I was looking over mine to get started and noticed a few things. A loose wire - fixed that. Then !!! the top hose on the throttle body is disconnected. I thought a simple matter of just following the curvature and finding where it goes. I can't find it! It looks like some sort of vacuum hose but I can't find it. Can anyone help? I went to the dealer and they said its too old that they don't have any info on it ! What! Anyone help please. I have a picture of what I am talking about but don't know how to post it here.

Question Is there Anything else that would cause throttle position failure?

Besides the TPS itself, is there anything else that could cause this error code?
Is there a way I could check my sensor? By measuring its resistance? What values? HELP!
