AWD problems

As the owner of a 2003 Venture LT, I've had 2 hub assemblies (right rear at 13,184 miles the day after I bought it and left front about a year later at 30,528 miles) replaced because of a sensor that goes bad and disengages the AWD. As my warranty has run out, I just paid $3800 for a new rear differential (at 48,046 miles) as the just the clutches were bad, but it is not a "serviceable" part. The dealer states that it had to be completely replaced. I picked up the van and no more than 200ft out of the service dept., the damn AWD Disable light goes on AGAIN!!!

What is the story with this Versatrak system? Why does it always fail?

My last vehicle was a 1996 Ford Explorer XLT 4x4 with 129k when I sold it and not ONE problem other than standard maintenance. I bought the Venture to fit my tandem bike into it. I'm thinking about buying the Ford back and haul the bike on the trailer.

Has anyone had, or heard of problems with the Versatrak system? Can anyone recommend an extended warranty company which a Chevy dealership will honor?

Re: AWD problems

Roman - Do you still own this Venture? Did you ever sort out the AWD issues? I am having issues with my AWD Venture and would be interested to know what you learned about your problems.
