ECM questions

Does anyone know if a ECM from an auto will work in a manual transmission? My thinking is it will work but just want to get a few more info from anyone who might know?

Thanks to all who reply,
Will

I think it would work if it's from the same generation of truck.

Re: ECM questions

The ECM senses what gear the automatic transmission is in from a roatary sensor on the selector shaft (pasenger side) I am not sure what the ECM -defaults- to if there is an open cercuit detected. It's a gamble at best but if you already have the ECM.....
