Exclamation 95 4.0l lifter removal

umm ok I got my engine apart and I am lost do I have to remove the head just to remove the a lifter that has collapsed or is there a simpler solution that I am not seeing here. If anyone has any info please tell me

Re: 95 4.0l lifter removal

The 4.0 is a single overhead cam, meaning that the lifters are part of the head, so yes, you will have to remove the cam in order to remove the lifters. JUst be careful as your removing the cam that ALL of the hardware goes back in the SAME place. Might try using a punch and marking each journal 1 dot 2 dot, and following to makesure that the caps get returned to the same journal. Simular to how you mark main and rod bearing caps to thier journals.
