I know it's alot harder, but I'm not sure what the full process is.

If I had to take a wild guess and make up some numbers on the possible engine choices actually done on american 240s it'd be something like:
SR20 > KA-T > CA18 > RB25 > some other random motor > RB26. sounds about right.

Re: putting an rb26 motor in a 93 240sx
You can get plenty of power out of the KA or SR.

Re: putting an rb26 motor in a 93 240sx
you need an rb25det transmission, custom driveshaft, the actual rb26dett, crossmember to fit it, mounts, harness, plumbing etc... its a bitch

i would say sr20, ka-t, rb25, (ca and v8 are a tie), some other random engine, then rb26. rb25 is definantly alot more common now a days. To the thread starter: 1) Just because your asking this question you are already in over your head. 2) The fact that you said is it the same as putting in an sr20, lets us further know you are in over your head 3) I hope you have ATLEAST 10 grand to spend on a STOCK 2.6 liter 250 hp engine.....then you said you want more potential lol. First experience even 400hp in a S chassis before you try and go for what 1 thousand(i dont see why you need more potential)?? the sr can get up to 5-600 for about what you would be spending for a stock 26. The 26 is a pointless swap except for the "i have money and my engine isnt played out yet factor" 4) An rb25 is about 5-6 grand and will be alot more easy to install and has the same potential.....and you know your going to make the 26 single turbo anyways. 5) The sr20 will be more than enough most likely for you. 6) The rb will have more potential but you dont have the money to even reach that potential. 7) if your a rich SOB, then go to a shop tell them i want an rb26 in this car and 1000hp and prove us all wrong. 8) until then the closest to driving a 1000 hp rb26 is in the gran turismo series spinning in your PS2. and if you even ask about the AWD...... research first. www.mckinneymotorsports.com www.jspec.com

Its kinda like this, if you have the money to successfully swap aRB26 into a Fourty and put down lets say, around 450hp, then why in the fuck are driving a Fourty in the first place? For that money you oughta be looking at some other cars with more punch out of the box.

Re: putting an rb26 motor in a 93 240sx
RB25 and RB26 don't have the same potential, the RB26 is like 310hp stock if you take out the governers and a 600hp SR will be more then a stock RB26.
