Whats the difference??

whats the difference between the peak pro($550) 5-lug conversion and the peak street($350) 5 lug conversion?? Pro's look way nicer obviously but are 200 more....which leads me to think there has to be more to it. Ill probably just go with the streets because of price obviously...its a damn hub. I dont need top show quality shine. But if there is more to the pro's i may reconsider.

RW said the attains have bearing problems from time to time and there only $417. This wont be daily driven so i dont think i should have to worry to much about a bearing failure...atleast not for a long while.

Thanks guys.

Re: Whats the difference??

think only thing that would factor in is the type of material they are made of...im guessing that at least.

Re: Whats the difference??

Street are steel and Pro are alloy so they won't rust, I would get Street since price is always an issue.

Re: Whats the difference??

Get the Peak Preformance Pros.

Those are the only ones I haven't heard of bearing problems, they come with extended lugs, and should be stronger than OEM.

Or just man up and get the S14 Spindle so you can use the S14 FLCA.

Re: Whats the difference??

yea that makes sense. Getting sideways im sure doesnt help it to much either. I dont plan on getting heavier wheels, and not deep dish rims for sometime. I want 300zx TT rims for now....but so far that is one tuff sum ma bitch to find.... Brand new ones cost 300 bux per rim plush shipping!! F that crap id rather buy an ok set of FN's or something else that would be a bit cheaper and little more "stylish" i guess. Im looking around for used 5-lugs that interest me. Pandagarage has nismo gt2's right now. But the width just makes me not want them.....

Wheel bearings will fail reguardless of what wheels you have, I have 17x9 +20 and a friend has 18x12-22 that he drives on hard and neither of us have had problems. The friend that have had failed bearings have had 17x7.5 +40 and 17x8 +25 on lightly daily driven cars.

The only thing you will ever have to worry about with wider wheels is Scrub Radius.

- It puts strain on your Powersteering Pump. (if you dont have Power steering dont plan on drifting at over 70mph). so you run a cooler... from a 300ZX or one like I got for free off of a Chrysler something.

- And it will cause the wheel to bang into things in the fender well, which is easily fixed by Caster and a Hammer.

- Scrub Radius is not worth worring about as long as its not a full-on track car. Some coilovers have Adjustment on the bottom bracket which is often confused with camber adujstment.

As for buying wheels: I wouldnt do the 300ZXs. for that much you could get some 16x8 R32 wheels that are forged... or 17x9 R33 wheels for that matter. If your gonna buy used wheels, get the money and then sit on it untill you find what you want and then snatch em quick. good fitments will go quick for 240s (My friend wanted my sterns...but I cut in and didn't tell him until they were paid. - he ended up not wanting/affording them anyway)

Re: Whats the difference??

yea rw. Thats what im kind of doing. Im just waiting for an ok deal to come. I dont really need to do a 5-lug right away. I mean im still going to buy the hubs and stuff. But its no biggie if i cant put them on right away lol. Id rather wait and get what i want then be all anxious to put them on with a wheel that i dont really like. Right now im just trying to find something used. I dont care if they have that used look. Now i dont want somone's old drifting curbed gouged scratched paint missing rims. But you get the point. Iv been searching locally for stock used 300 rims too...no luck so far. Wait what does the r34 gts skyline come with?? If adrenaline still has there's maybe i could snatch that set off them...i doubt they do though. Ill have to ask them. I need a couple of price quotes anyways.

R34 Has 18x9 +30 6 spokes... they look fair enough on a S13 with a kit, but are too big on stock body me thinks

Cheap new wheels in good sizes

Re: Whats the difference??

sweet. Thanks. Ill start researching. Work emotions dont sound to bad. I could sport those for a while too. I would prolly want 17's. I dont want a major huge setup right now. So what do you think a good mediocre size emotion would be for a stock body 240? I do have coil overs if that matters for fitment issues or what not. And they need to be able to clear a front brake upgrade for future purchases. I would prolly go no bigger than 8.5 or 9 in the rear....for now. Im in love with super advan 2's. THose in titanium gold is my ultimate. I know there played out...but not around here lol.

Re: Whats the difference??

oh snap. I just checked my post from my local forum and some kid has used 300 rims. He says make offer...whats a good offer lol. 2 of them have ok tires and the other 2 have shitty tires. Hmm i dont know...$400??? I havent seen them though dunno condition. THe TT had the wider in the back right. And the NA just had 7.5 all the way around right?? I guess it really wouldnt matter to much....there just ok 5-luggers to get me by for now...

*edit*
they are TT's
