92 Silverado Cruise Control problem
Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out my cruise control on a 92 Chevy 1/2 ton with the 350 TBI motor. Cruise has never worked on this truck and would love to figure it out before I head on a long trip. I'd imagine this is an issue like any other vehicle and probably one common thing I should be looking at. Apparently, the fuse is tied into my instrument lights, etc and that is "good"... I'm wondering if there is a specific wiring harness I should be looking at and what will be my +12V supply wire to determine if the controller is even getting power?

Re: 92 Silverado Cruise Control problem
I had the same problem on my '92 1/2 ton. After replacing the controller and the cruise/turn signal/wiper lever on the steering column, it ended up being the brake switch. Try using your foot to pull up on the brake pedal and then set the cruise control. If it works, you've found your problem. If not, it's probably either the controller or the lever on the steering column.

Re: 92 Silverado Cruise Control problem
i would say most definetly the brake switch. careful too, when the brake switch is faulty, the torque converter will not lock up. easy fix though, think the switch is 20 bucks or so
