Remember the AMS Evo in the vids that was destroying everybody...

...except the pure-dragger Camaro?

I have a feeling it'll keep up a bit better with the Camaro now: http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthr...4&page=1&pp=15

Dyno vid

If you read the posts by the AMS people, the car has MORE power available, with some cam tuning, only to MAX OUT the turbo at 850 AWHP.

The only question I haveis how much it would cost to build the engine up to that much HP....

And would the 4G63 out of an EVO swap into a DSM...

And yes, I am serious...

no, well not directly since the engines are on different sides of the car

or they spin in different directions

one of those

How much was it making previously, because it was quite a beast to begin with. And I'll tell you what. I wanna see it run against this:

well the 4G63 in the evo is just a more built version of the 4G63 in the GSX. I'm not sure about internals but the evo runs the big 16g twinscroll turbo as opposed to the little t-25. Why not just buy a GSX and build the original motor?

I too would like to see the vr-4 and EVO go at it but the vr-4 is so heavy that I can't see it being able to take out this evo (unless extreme weight reduction has been done)

the DSM's 4G63 is different totally different from the evo 8's 4G63. the EVO's stopped using the DSM's 4G63 since the EVO 3. and now they're at 9. so thats how far behind the older 4G is.

also the AMS evo will make more power but has more drag from clunky aerodynamics, and is not geared as good on the highwya.

edit: and 42 psi of boost!!! damn i've never seen anything run that much boost.

Really? thats cool to know, I always thought the evo 8 engine was just a version of the original 4G63 with the updated tech stuff to keep it up to par and stronger internals. So there would be no way to build a dsm 4g63 engine to match the specs of the evo 4g63 engine? Did they completely redesign the entire block?
We've got a guy in FL who's running 8's on his 1g gsx and plenty of guys running crazy times on dsmtuners... That old 4G might be behind but its still kicking ass.

eclipse and all EVO I, II, and III 4G63

EVO IV, V, VI, VII etc 4G63

notice how the engine is facing the opposite direction and it probrably spins the opposite direction too compared to the older gen's. the heads are a different size and so on.

The only basic difference in the motors is the orientation. The stock Evo8's have forged internals and are much hardier than stock DSM's (for the most part), though there's a guy on the DSMLink forums putting down like 500whp on a STOCK 7-bolt block. From Evo4 and on, the motors won't fit in a DSM.

It was at 600-plus AWHP during those vids, and it was killing cars with nearly 800 RWHP. It's already been estimated in the SVT forums I frequent that it will take 1000+ RWHP to walk this Evo.

Sounds like its time for some of the big Supra players to step up and show this EVO where its place is.

A good number of those 1K+ whp Supras are dyno queens, and dont have the torque to back it up...I know there are a few in the Ft. Worth (not Dallas mutha fucks!) that can, with MVP Motorsports. Then there is that one guy running 1k+ wheel and around 1K (I think it was like 1005) ft.lbs of torque, and stock breaks...I bet that would be a quick and painless.

However, I bet there are a number of Supras, as well as other cars, that could probably whup up on this guy. Let's throw a Veryon at him, see how he does there...then we will slowly trickle down to the 1k Supras, and big nmber TAs and Cobras, Skylines, 'Vettes (Lingenfelter and Callaway) and Vipers (Turboed ones) and the like. See, after having his ego torn asunder, he wont be in the right mind to take on a comparable car...

If that doesn't work, we could always

Its nice though. Major props to those guys for pulling what they have outa that motor.
