adding guages

i want to add a few new gauges so i can have a full readout of what's going on under the hood. i know of 2:

oil pressure--(where's a good place to tap?)
electrical current--(this just hooks up to the battery, correct?)

any others worth doing? any other guages just to look cool?

Re: adding guages

Ah NO!

I can't tell you about the oil pressure but the amp meter goes to the alternator. If you want to know whats going on under the hood, go to walmart and purchase an ODB2 scan tool (vehicle year 1996 - present). It would be safer and you wont be looking for places to attach all these gauges which dont mean much unless your trying to diagonis a problem, hence the scanner. Walmart offers two, one for 70.00, the other 90.00.

Re: adding guages

but why would i want to drive around with the scan tool plugged in all of the time? i thin kt he guags would be a better choice, the passport already comes stock with a temp guage-i'd like to see more.

i want to see the oil pressure, etc. i don't think the scan tool will give me readings like oil pressure, does it?
