plastic stuff in doors?

so i took apart the door to realign the window, is the plasticky sheety stuff all that important to put back?

Naw, you can junk it if you want. I'm sure it probably adds a little insulation, but you don't have to keep it in. Any DIY's I've seen where someone soundproofed or reupholstered their door, they rip that plastic off and didn't replace it.

its more for the winter and summer time, it keeps most the cold/hot air from coming in from your door panel

keeps water out too. took mine out and when i wash my car i get a bit of water in the car and on the speaker. also when my window is down u can feel moving air on ur leg from the speaker hole.

I'd say keep it. It provides extra insulation which is always good on a street driven car.

Yeah, unless you've badly torn it, try to keep it. I don't know about you, but I don't like water in my car.

an if you DO rip it, im suer you can substitute it with a heavy plastic.... like a drop cloth for painting(the THICK ones) or a heavy trash bag... better than nothing, unless you would like to never have the inside of your car warm up/ cool down
