Running over glass
In our parking lot this morning, I ran over a shattered Snapple glass bottle...how likely is it that glass will cause a flat?

Re: Running over glass
It can, but if you don't notice it soon, chances are it didn't. Just keep an eye on your tire pressure for a day or two.

Re: Running over glass
I would say its very unlikely... The glass would have to penetrate about 1/2" into the tire to punture it (unless your tires were bald) which mean you would have needed a really long thin shard of glass to do it (I would say 99% if the time a punture is cause by a nail or screw).
The side of the tire is a little more vulerable but there wouldn't be enough weight in the glass to force it through the tire unless you were purposely rocking the car back and forth across the glass. |

Re: Running over glass
Yeah I haven't seen any flat tires caused by glass at my shop, always something metallic...so probably not likely.
