Need some Amplifier selection help

Well im new to this forum and new to the car audio world ( i do no some basics ) but anyways to my point. I bought 2 audiobahn 15" subs in a bandpass box ( a.k.a ABP15 ) which are rated at 1000 Watts RMS. I no that audiobahn isn't the best but they are better than many others out there plus i got a great deal on them from a freind and they were brand spankin' new in the box and I dont plan on doing competitions or anything so i dont exactally need the best. But what I really wanted to know is what amplifier i should go with get the most out of these subs. And if you can think of anything else i can do to help w/ my system please share.

THANX FOR THA HELP

I don't know many high power amps, but i think audiobahns kick ass. I believe the majority of them are designed specifically for vented enclosures and i don't think i've heard any other sub that has played very loud and deep as audiobahn. better get some dynomat, those things will pump.

Re: Need some Amplifier selection help

For one audiobahns are rank pretty low if you where to compare brands there not the worst but there definately not that great. Granted that car audio is mainly on a persons preferences, im just saying there not as good as your saying they are, then again theres nothin wrong with a beater system. AS for the amps you can look into Hifonics lots of power for a decent price, you can also remember you dont need full rms to power a sub and with a bandpass that would probably be better since in that style box its harder to hear whether or not your doing any damage to the subs. Look into profile you can get about 400rms for about 100 off of ebay more than enough if you get 2 (1for each sub), stay away from any farmers market brands such as legacy, pyramid, pyle (of shit) they have the tendancy to make there amps seem ungodly in power for there price, when it says 1200 watts on a leagacy its usually closer to about 200 watts. You can look ebay for either brand you can also look into PPI(presicion power), Directed audio, or some of the mtx amps. Im going to assume since it says 1000 watts rms thats for both subs together so 500 rms each, so look into some 700-1000 watt d-class mono amps.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.
