paint question

How do you get that "flat black" look that some cars have. Is it just primer or is it actual paint? thanks

you sand it all down before you paint, so why would that matter?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: paint question

if u put like 3 layers of primer on later on u can wet sand it and its ready for paint... with rattle cans u have to sand it all the way off and then spray primer anyways

Re: paint question

I have some friends w/ rattle canned cars and they look pretty sweet....flat black w/ clear vinyls is pretty nice i think. If you're going to repaint someday it isn't going to affect anything because like kicker said, you're going to sand it all again anyway....

Re: paint question

I use all PPG product, and a great durable sealer that we use, and rodders also use for their flat black "suede" paint job is DP90LF. my preference is to avoid rattle can since it clogs paper super fast and is just a pain in the ass to prep with. I hate wasting time to strip it off.
