I got some good info on here the other day, and thought I would repay. A couple of years ago I had my evaporator replaced. While my guy was in there he put a new heater coil in (it was a bit gross). Well last week I didn't have any heat. The engine would heat up. Both hoses to the firewall were hot. I must be a damper door! It was. After tearing out the dash (which I didn't need to do) I found the right one. Just to the left of the glove box, right against the floor, there is a small round motor. This looks different than the other actuators. Anyway, this controls the hot/cold damper door. It was just a bit stuck. I struck it with a small hammer and it closed to "heat". Probably not the best way to do it, but in a hurry it works. I think this will be an easy fix in the end, for a while at least. I have had this truck sincenew (thus my name) and I can answer questions about several things that I have repaired without a hammer. I will patrol this site to see if I can help. My email is

thanks,
John
