Re: Park Brake Light wont go off
I have exactly the same problem. I suspected the low fluid switch, because when I unplugged it, the problem went away. But, given its odd behavior, I wonder.
I posted it here a while ago, but no one had any new ideas. |

Re: Park Brake Light wont go off
First, make sure the fluid level is at or near the max line on the master cylinder reservior. Don't just look at it from the side. Remove the cap and look inside. Old, dirty fluid leaves a stain on the side of the translucent reservoir making people think it is full, when it is not. If low, add fluid as necessary to bring the level to the max line.

Re: Park Brake Light wont go off
Tried both those - fluid OK brake seems OK.
The light tends to come on with hard left turns (which should throw fluid AGAINST the sensor) and goes off with hard right turns. It's been getting worse as the weather has gotten colder (and, being in Florida, it's possible to notice the change in frequency and length of time the light is on varying with the outside temperature). But I haven't taken to console off and checked the brake yet. Afterthought - but disconnecting the plug from the low fluid sensor made it go away !!???? |
