bracket on bottom of engine 97 2.0 SOHC
Hi all, I have a 97 escort lx 4door wagon with the 2.0l SOHC engine and an automatic transaxle. Anyway, about a week ago i started noticing a rattling noise at low RPM, upon visual inspection i noticed that there is some sort of bracket, about a foot long with three bolts on the underside of the engine i think near the oilpan (sorry, i haven't had a lot of chance to look at this car). Well, the front bolt for this bracket is completely missing and the back one seems to be loose. If anyone has ideas as to what this bracket is, or what bolts it takes (threads and length) I would be very thankful.
Thank You, Tim |

You might bebest off going to a parts place and taking a bolt inside and have them match it up. Less room for error.

OK. Thought it was the same size as the other bolts. Sounds like the bracket on my '93 but I'm not sure if they are the same as '97
